9 Lithuanian athletes will take part in the Pyongchang Olympic Winter Games

The Lithuanian National Olympic Committee (LTOC) approved the names of athletes who will represent Lithuania at the Winter Olympics in Pyongyang.


Biathlonists – Tomas Kaukėnas, Vytautas Strolia, Natalija Kočergina and Diana Rasimovičiūtė. The first two athletes will take part in the Olympic Games for the second time, for N. Kočergina it will be a debut and D. Rasimovičiūtė will participate in her 5th Olympic games.

The Lithuanian flag in the Opening ceremony on the 9th Feb was entrusted to carry to Tomas Kaukėnas. 

The day after the Opening ceremony 10th January two women athletes N. Kočergina and D. Rasimovičiūtė will be standing at the start line to compete in Biathlon Sprint – 7,5km distance.

In cross country ski team – three athletes. For Mantas Strolia and Modestas Vaičiulis, this will be their second Olympic games, but the first one for Olympics debutant Marija Kaznačenko. The first skier by the start line will be Mantas Strolia in 15 km + 15 km skiathlon distance.

The Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in South Korea will be held from 9 to 25 February. There will be about 3000 athletes from 95 countries participating in the Games. They will be awarded 102 sets of medals.
